FITBIT USERS: calculating driving as steps

I am currently on a long car ride and my fitbit is recording a decent number of false steps, floors, and calories! I know the start time of when i got in the car so when i select "driving" from the list of activities and enter it for the time period i was in the car, it will take out the false info it logged right? My question is ..will it still include calories burned from my bmr? I would like it to clear out ALL of the data and just leave the calories burned from my bmr. Is there any way to do this? Do i have to make a custom activity and set calories burned to zero? How does this work so i can get the most accurate readings of cals floors and steps!?

On the fitbit site you can "tell it" that you were driving during these times and have the steps removed. It's been a while since I tinkered with it, so I can't help any more than that :frown:

My fitbitt has never logged driving as steps.

I've never had a problem with driving steps so I've never had to overwrite the activity. But if it removed your BMR calories while driving, that would be totally ridiculous so I strongly doubt it does.

No, it keeps the base cals so just log in start time of driving & duration then it will take out stairs climbed but keep base cals for you.
