1200 calories a day, but how about carbs

I know the MFP recommendations for my weight are 1200kcals a day and the carb limits are given too. I was wondering whether removing a quarter or so of my carbohydrate allowance and replacing it with protein and fibre instead will boost my weight loss, or is it not advisable? I've just started the 30 day shred and recognise I need carbohydrate to keep me going, but as the exercise is not that intense I feel I could cut back

Any advice would be appreciated,

Thanks!

You can set your goals individually to whatever suits you. I use 25% protein, 35% fat, and 40% carbs most of the time. MFP's protein requirements are generally pretty low to begin with.

the standard protein is pretty low and could usefully be increased at the expense of carbs. Probably not much point going over 35% protein though.

It won't directly help you lose weight, no. However, eating more protein and less carbs may help you feel more full an therefore make it easier to stick to your 1200 calories.
