This morning I got a tonsillectomy and septoplasty and have been placed by my doctor on a liquid only diet for the first half of recovery (about 10 days) after which I can incorporate soft foods for the last 8 or so days before eating normally. My question is how to properly bounce back from this liquid diet without ruining my metabolism or gaining all of the weight back that I'm sure to lose. I know there are guidelines for coming back from a juice fast, should I follow that advice or do any of you have any other ideas?

Thanks y'all, I really appreciate the advice

Is a smoothie considered a liquid, or a soft food? I'd go with protein powder + fruit and milk (or juice or water, or whatever) in a blender.

As long as you get enough calories, you won't "ruin" your metabolism.

Agreed, it won't really effect anything in 10 days. Your good to consume anything you can get your blender to convince.
