Does anyone know if splenda or any other sugar substitute is really good for you? I've had heard that it is better to have real sugar then its substitutes. Any help is appreciated!!! I'm a little confused about the whole sugar thing.

Splenda give me headaches.. stevia I grow in my flowerbeds . Look for the packages of straight stevia it doesn’t raise your blood sugar and I like the taste .

There's a lot of unsubstantiated scaremongering about artificial sweeteners. Here's a great read about artificial sweeteners (aspartame in particular), written by a biochemist: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1308408/why-aspartame-isnt-scary/p1

The OP is from 2007 and she hasn't been on the forum since. Hopefully she has it figured out by now

Your link is pertinent, though, since the thread was resurrected.

I think that the more natural it is the better option it is. We eat too much processed and chemically altered food and ever since we started doing this our waist lines have done nothing but grow.

Also, they have started to find that people that use splenda instead of sugar or other substitutes are coming up with an abnormal amount of joint problems.

    Natural is better.

False. (In terms of those things causing waistlines to increase)

How are you finding these old threads? This is the second 11 year old thread that I've seen you bump.
