Struggling to log exercise!

Hi everyone, I have just joined cityfitness gym and don't how to log the classes! I am a big fan of classes so need to sort this!
Today I did the 'group core' class. I don't know how many calories they burn so can't just log that!
Any advice??
How can you find classes?

It's my experience that my workout classes are generally between 200-300 cals/hour. It really depends on your intensity. I take a Pure Muscle class that uses handweight and reps to music, plus floorwork for abs and back. I usually log around 300 cals for the hour. Based on my rate of loss so far, its reasonably close to expectations. I take a Functional Fitness class thats similar in style but the focus isnt on developing muscle and I log that around 225 cals because she doesnt take the heart rate up as often or for as long. Some people might say higher, but if you are logging exercise you have to try to keep in the back of your mind that your goal for the day has already roughly accounted for some kind of calorie burn during that time period.

Ive checked my TDEE against the online calculators and it looks like I am pretty close. This really only takes into account my body though, your burn can always be higher or lower.

    Hope this helps.

Is there a way to browse the exercises in the MFP database? Sometimes I don't know what to call the exercises I did and end up not logging. For example, if I spend 20 minutes doing old fashioned toning exercises, I can't figure out what to call it so as to find it.

Carol - look up calisthenics for old fashioned toning and stretching exercises?
