Post run alternatives to chocolate milk?

I've read everywhere that chocolate milk is a good after workout snack because it has the right ratio of protein to carbs (1:4) and it's cheap, so I've been having a glass after I run but I don't really like it. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cheap, easy snacks or drinks that have a similar ratio?

You could probably make a yogurt fruit smoothie come out to whatever ratio you want by altering how much fruit (carbs) you add.
(I actually LOVE choc milk, but I've been having protein milk shake after b/c I often have a fruit juice energy drink before.)0 -
I've started using a chilled coffee latte post run.0

When I used to run regularly, I'd have greek yogurt and a banana.0

if I come home, i like a smoothie with orange juice, strawberries and some papaya. i like a piece of string cheese or energy bar if I'm on the go. banana too.

Fruit is good but its carbs are released slowly, be sure to have a handful or pretzels or something similar if you go for fruit. An apple and some peanut butter is good too, if you're into that!
I make a ton of rice and lentils for the week that I snack on after my runs and it seems to keep the DOMS at bay.0 -
That is simply something the dairy industry paid for - a study they paid for which means a biased study. Chocolate milk has far too much sugar to be healthy. What I do is buy organic 2% milk and blend it with Hershey dark chocolate (sugar free, just the cocoa) and either stevia or splenda. I blend that using a milkshake blade and on milkshake speed. You can really use any blade.
I think it's very good. You can also use almond milk or some other beverage but I happen to think some milk is good for you and above all, I like it.0 -

Apples with peanut butter are my weakness. Only with red delicious apples, though. Spartan apples are too sweet to eat with peanut butter. Tastes weird.0 -

...the right ratio of protein to carbs (1:4)...
Who told you that was the right ratio?
I often have a Snickers bar. Love chocolate milk, too, it's awesome.0
