The day after Thanksgiving and only two months since I started MFP, I have lost 18 lbs. (give or take). I was up 1 lb. this a.m. and ate plenty of goodies but now I am cleaning out the closet and have found several pairs of jeans that I can now button again and it FEELS great!!! Keep your chin up and your bodies moving!!! It's worth it! <3

Thanks MFP, MFP friends, support and encouragement and to God be the glory! "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." Phil. 4:13

Keep in mind that you didn't gain 1 Lb of fat...pretty much mathematically and scientifically impossible to do that overnight or with one day of overeating...even if you did exceed your maintenance by 3500 calories, your body would absorb that and use that energy. You have to consistently over-eat or under-eat to override your body's ability to balance itself and maintain.

When you feast and/or otherwise consume more calories than you usually would, you retain more water and you re-stock chronically depleted glycogen stores. When I was cutting and I would do a carb load re-feed I could easily put on 3-5 Lbs of water and glycogen overnight. But it's not fat...

People really need to look at it from a big picture point of view. Nobody became fat and unfit because of Thanksgiving or Christmas or any of the other OCCASIONS that come along during the year. People get fat and unhealthy and unfit and conversely fit, healthy, and lean because of the things they are doing most of the time...not what they're doing on occasion.

Great reply cwolfman, I might steal your last paragraph for my profile if that's ok, reading it makes so much sense to me.

Well done Pam, that's a great loss, enjoy the jeans:)
