I was young. He came in to pick me up and told me when we got into his car that my mom was hot. Ewwww! (love my mom, but....) It was over for me before it began.

I went out to dinner with a really nice, smart, funny guy when I was a Sophomore. He was in college and had his own car so I was totally enchanted with him. After he paid the bill, he looked me dead in the eye and told me I could repay him by sucking his d*ck in the parking lot. Not so enchanted after that, my mom had to pick me up. lol

Not sure how embarrassing it is, but a few years before I met my wife I was on a first date with a pretty young thing that I met through a mutual friend. We had a great date and the chemistry was rockin. We ended up back at her house, which she told me she was renting a room in. The lights were out, the clothes were off, and all of a sudden there's her mom spraying us with a garden hose from outside her bedroom window and screaming something in Spanish. My naked *kitten* grabbed my clothes and high-tailed it out of there!

Um, unfortunately there was no second date.

First date- guy started crying at the dinner table about how his ex would't ever let him watch the TV shows he wanted to watch.

First - and last - date: they guy apparently didn't want to spend any money on dinner or anything, so he took me to the video store to rent a movie, spent more time in the porn section browsing titles than in the main store, and then took me to his brothers house to watch whatever action flick he ended up renting. Oh, and the brother and his wife were there, too - and didn't know we were coming over. Yeah, that was fun.

Oh, and in high school I got asked out by a college guy who also apparently didn't want to spend any money. He ended up taking me to a cemetery. No, I didn't go out with him again.

Seriously, why didn't anyone want to feed me back then?? I was a skinny little thing, I wouldn't have eaten much!

The family had two cars - a nice one and a beater. So I drive up this girl's house in the beater (I'm in high school by the way) and this was to be our first date. As I pull into their driveway the steering wheel fell off! So I walked up to the front door, rang the doorbell and the girl's father answers the door. I held up the steering wheel and asked him if I could borrow some tools! Believe it or not, he helped me get the steering wheel back on AND he let me take his daughter on the date!

I was on a double date (blind date on my part) and my date showed up almost and hour late, walked in and then started cussing and walked out because he has forgotten to swing by the ATM. He was cussing LOUDLY and it was embarressing because it was a kind of fancy restaurant and people were looking at us. So, he came back, was generally loud and obnoxious then we ALL ended back at his place to watch a movie and he told me he loved me :noway: I was naive and attributed it to first date jitters and agreed to a second date.... :grumble:

On the second date, at a REALLY fancy restaurant (that was HIS idea), he left once every ten minutes to talk on the phone for ten minutes at a crack.. This is after he would answer REALLY loudly at the table! I was mortified, people were looking at me with such pity I almost snuck out the back door while he was gone, but I had stupidly left my purse in his car because I was told I wouldn't need it... :grumble: :grumble:

I really should have listened to my gut and politely declined. Lessoned learned!!

i find it interesting that that most of the awkward moments that women describe are things that the other person did and most of the things guys describe are things that they did themselves.

    most. not all.

Finished up a nice dinner, nice conversation, but as we walked to the parking lot he said "I can tell you one thing, you're too good for me." Where in the hell did that come from? Who does that?

I've done some embarrassing things on dates, not the first date though. With my last ex, when I went to meet his parents for the first time, I choked on a Brussel Sprout and his dad had to do the Heimlich on me. :P Bruised up my ribs so badly I ended up going to the hospital. I was so mortified!
  • I had an unwelcomed Mexican Mariachi band sing loves songs to a girl on our second date. She believed I had planned the whole thing and I never heard from her again.
  • First date with a guy to a local night club and I was driving. By the way this was the early 80's and he had more eyeliner than I did. Anyways we decide to leave a little bit early to avoid the rush for coats. He decides he's hungry and goes over to a fast food van. I go and sit in my car and luckily I haven't unlocked the passenger door because a very odd looking guy starts knocking on the window and trying to open the door. I am feeling a bit scared and trying to ignore him, when my guy comes back and the odd guy says I was just trying to tell your girlfriend she's got a flat tyre.
So my guy goes off to find his friend in the club as he used to have a Ford and he'll know how to change it!!!! So I decide to have a sit down on the passenger seat and after a few minutes there's a warm feeling spreading up my bottom. I had sat on his cheesy baked potato that he had placed on the seat before looking for his friend.
Of course the only thing I could do was take off my coat with the greasy cheesy mark on the back and throw it on the back seat, then I fluffed up his baked potato. I then freeze to death but he comes back and eats his baked potato totally oblivious. It was our 1 and only date though.

I once told a guy I'd been talking to for a couple weeks that I was really turned off my back hair. Turns out he had a full coat under his clothes that I didn't know about. He tried not to act hurt at first and I apologized and felt terrible. That's probably the worst I have done in terms of embarrassing myself but two days later, I got a very long email about how much I'd hurt him and how women were always hurting time, and how he'd forgive me with time. My embarrassment quickly faded to relief as I realized how big of a bullet I dodged. A couple days later, I got an email apologizing for him not being in contact sooner -- but the Pens had lost the Cup and he'd be very upset and took the day off from work because he was too emotional to go to work.

    Yeah.

I just went on a date a month ago with a guy who showed up an hour late and didn't look me in the eyes the entire time. He sat perpendicular to me the whole date. He kept on texting and calling me for the next week. If I didn't respond in a timely manner he would call me and he called me "sweet pea" after one date. There was not another date afterwards.

When I was a teenager a guy asked me on a date and he was a couple of years older than I was. He came from an extremely wealthy family and everyone knew him. We go to the movies and he pays for the tickets and we had no snacks because he said we were going to go to a nice restaurant afterwards. When dinner is finished they bring the bill and put it next to him. He takes it an pushes it towards me and says that since he paid for the movies, I should pay for dinner. The movie was maybe $12 total and dinner was $60. I paid just so we could get out of there. Once we start driving he tells me that I should give him $5 for gas because that is what half should be. Never was a second date and he couldn't grasp why.

I had a first (and last) date ask me what Cajun fries were... I gave a stare and said "uhhh fries with Cajun seasoning?" and she called me a wiseass. Then she proceeded to take the check and tell the server that I always made her pay, and then handed me the bill and said "don't be a Jew" (how'd she know??). We went to get ice cream after and the place only took cash and I had none. She paid for mine and was obnoxious about her paying when I didn't finish my cone and also when I took a wet wipe to my hands to clean off (I don't like dirty hands, so what?). To top it all off, we went for a walk on the bike trail at night, and she asked "is this the part where you rape me and dump my body in a shallow grave?" She texted back a couple days later asking if we could go out again, and needless to say I declined.
