On average, how much sugar do YOU consume each day?

Just asking out of curiosity. Thanks.
More than the MFP allowance. For a very long time

Me, too. That's one of the reasons that I was asking. For the past wk, mine has been 74, 57, 33 (only bc I didn't eat much that day), 74, 61, and 54 grams for today. MFP has me set at 24 grams, though.

I've been wanting to know this too! I mostly eat sugar free and I still land between the 24 MPF says and 50ish every day.

I am never within the sugar allowance goal set by MFP. MFP gives me 30 and I consume anywhere from 50-75 grams a day. Alot of it is natural sugar from fruits and vegetables so I try not stress about it too much unless I am consuming cakes, cookies and stuff like that.

Don't know........don't track. It's above MFP suggestion but I do not list sugars on my macros list.

Target 5 grams or less sugar, and I also target 25 grams or less carbs.

I don't track sugar, just carbs. I try to get 1 gram of protein per pound of LBM, .35 grams of fat per pound of body weight, and then the rest can be carbs.

MFP's sugar allowance is the recommended amount of *added* sugar, but MFP doesn't differentiate between natural and added sugars, so imo tracking sugar is kind of pointless unless you have a medical reason to do so.

Stick to the important things-- accurate logging and hitting your calorie goal. Get some exercise. Don't sweat the trivial stuff.

I don't track mine, either. But, it shows as a default macro in your printable report.

    Monday 65
    Tuesday 63
    Wednesday 81
    Thursday 171 (2 kiwis, 1.5 bananas, 2 small oranges)
    Friday 84

Since I have no sugar issues of any kind yet and it comes from mostly fruit, I eat as much fruit as I can ... loved the kiwis, must get more actually

    Scroll down to the chart--

You'll see the recommendations for added sugar based on how many calories you consume. MFP sets mine at 32 grams, which is the recommendation for added sugar for a 2000 calorie diet. But since food labels don't differentiate, neither does MFP.

Thanks. This really helped a lot and straightened things out for me.

For those of you who want something more official, I found this in the USDA link that she provided. See the very end of page 266 and all of page 267 (or just search for "added" . http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/DRI/DRI_Energy/265-338.pdf

Ha! I had that one before the edit. Decided to go with the simpler option. :flowerforyou:
