Lower Stomach sticks out

So I would definitely say I'm in good shape, when I'm at home I work out every day, and when I'm at school it's a very hilly campus so I get exercise just walking around, and I also lift twice a week and dance 1-2 times a week. I'm very strong and can run at 5 or 6 mph for 20 mins straight without really getting tired or overly out of breath. I'm pretty tight all over, but my lower stomach sticks out, it's like right under my belly button it just goes out and comes back down at my pelvis, it's like to the point that I have to press down a decent amount to feel my hip bones, and it just makes me really insecure to wear high waisted jeans and things i love to wear with crop tops. So, what can be causing this, I usually eat under maintence, my calories were set to 1700 for a while but I found I had gained a bit of weight (on the scale it's 10 lbs but my clothes don't fit 10 lbs differently, so I could have gained some muscle too) anyways, what is causing this, I lowered my calories to 1500 and have been careful and trying to eat healthy and lots of protein, and I've been working out more but no difference....what is causing this? Also I'm gluten free by necessity

Mine does the same. It is getting smaller very slowly the more weight I lose. Just keep working on losing more body fat.

That sounds like your lower abdomen...like where a baby grows. Also where you pooch out when you need to visit the potty. Either way it seems like maybe something might be coming out of you soon. It's a toss up whether very soon, not very soon, stinky, or loud.

    Interesting...I had not considered that...

There is a certain amount of convexity to the rectus abdominus regardless of your body fat percentage. It will never be perfectly flat or concave. It's just anatomy.

Translation: lower belly = roundish even on the fittest people. You may be a mutant or missing some vital organs if it isn't.
    You're ok. :)

I think we have similar body types. When I get down to about 130 lbs my belly starts disappearing and at 125 lbs it is gone. You can see it in my pics. The black dress pic is at about 130 lbs. The current pics in the bra and shorts are at 138 lbs. BTW, I am about 5'1/5'2"
