You could always plan a snack into your calories to satisfy your craving. I always have a snack late at night. My dinner is at 5ish, so around 9pm, I usually have ice cream ;)

Yep, it's a tough one for me, too. I do popcorn sometimes if I just can't distract myself. I don't keep junk food around; there's no such thing as "one" for me. I eat beans to curb the carbo cravings. That's pretty successful for me. I knit, so my hands are busy. One other trick I use is to tell myself I can have "that" (whatever I think I want) tomorrow, and that will soothe me enough. By the next day, I've forgotten, usually. Sometimes I actually let myself have it that morning. Better in the morning, I figure; I can burn it off by the end of the day. Occasionally, like once every 4 months or so, I actually just eat it (way too much of it) and just start over the next day. I'll be interested in what others say about what works for them.

Leave more calories for the PM. If you can't stop the cravings (I've never been able to stop mine), then just work your calories around your craving.

plan for an evening snack and drink 2 cups of water. i find that flossing and brushing my teeth early will keep me out of the kitchen.
