So if my husband tells me he prefers smooth over the chunky I make, that means he hates me and is trying to change me and I should leave him, correct?
Of course. Don't know how you could read it any other way. Tell me, did you live together first? That may be the problem. Then again, you shouldn't be checking each other, just yourselves you know.0 -

Slightly chunky. That's right, I'm being non-commital to either direction. Silky smooth isn't chunky enough and chunky isn't smooth enough. That's just truth.0

Red mashed potatoes rock.
These are not mashed potatoes. These are smashed potatoes. Also very good, especially with some fresh herbs and sour cream mixed in.
But they're not mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are smooth and creamy.

If I go to the trouble of peeling the potatoes first I mash them smooth. If I leave the skin on for a rustic mashed potato with roasted garlic, cream cheese/sour cream, bacon, and green onion lumps are encouraged.0

Honestly, it just means serve his in a mixing bowl with a potato masher. He can beat them to death while everyone else looks on with amusement and eats their mashed potatoes while they are hot. :laugh:0 -
