December Cycling Challenge

Wow! If I weren't the one starting this, I would think that December and cycling were contradictory words.

We are back for another month of cycling. All are welcome to join. We have some really experienced cyclers who are able to put up huge numbers and we have others who are just getting their feet wet in the cycling waters. Whatever level you are at is the perfect level to join up.Even if you don't consider yourself a cycler, if you put your foot to a pedal you are welcome to join.

Some people post their mileage, others their minutes. However you want to post is fine.

Now, get on that bike, You know that you want to.

    There is no "how" for the challenge. You can set a goal for yourself, or just post what you've done. You can post daily, weekly, or whenever. No hard and fast rules except to be kind to others.

    I don't ride a lot because I'm disabled by illness, but I've been using these monthly threads to make myself accountable. Last month, I only rode 32 miles (my goal was 60). But, I'll try to do better this month. Since I have already met my weight loss goal, I'm trying not to be too hard on myself if pain keeps me off the bike.

    Oh, and stationary bikes count.

    My goal for December is 50 miles. I don't like riding indoors, but I will if I have to for December and January.

    My goal for the month of Dec is 15 hours for the month. I live in a chilly climate so I will count my cycling classes. I usually go1- 2x a week but want to up it to 3.... Good Luck with your goals everyone!!!

    Managed 197 miles last month, guess the half marathon training is taking a lot of my time but plan on dusting the turbo trainer down to get some winter training in.

    3/12 - 20 miles, constant 40km/h wind on the way out but fun on the way back

    Well I am going to try for December. ...Last month did not do zip.. For this month will mostly do spin classes or my trainer...Goal is just to do ride 3 times a week.. will come up with numbers

    I am in, too!
    I hope to get in 7 hours in spinning classes this month.

    I have only done 55 minutes out of a 75 minute class...do not have any stamina in my "seat" area yet! :laugh: :laugh:

    Hopefully, I will be able to read everyone's posts for encouragement and post my update once a week.:bigsmile:

    Live in Maine, so I use the stationary bike in gym. I do 120 min. 5 days/wk. Monitor says 21mi, 500 or so cal.

    100 or so mi/wk. Now if only my lungs weren't smoke filled (haha).

    After talking with a Nutritionist and finding most of my mistakes, I am back in.
    Winter in NJ has me spinning at this time of year.
