Want to help a sister out with her study?

Hey guys, my names Amber and i'm an undergraduate student at the University of South Wales :) I'm in my third year and I'm doing a study on the relationship between ethnicity, ethnic identity and self-esteem. So if you guys could find it in your hearts to take 10 minutes out of your Sunday nights to do my survey online, that would be amazing, and i would be very grateful :)

    You didn't say pretty please...

Then don't do the survey. Jesus christ, next you'll be demanding she come around and type the URL in your browser for you personally.

You have to make one up for yourself.

ETA: Sorry OP. I took the survey and then I was going to have my husband take it, too, but it wouldn't let him do the survey again on the same computer. At least you got one of us.

done.... but with a couple of questions/comments

I'm a Brit living in Bahrain, and I've been living in the Arab world for 6 years now. Personally I feel that living among people of other cultures and nationalities has strengthened my own sense of identity in terms of culture and ethnicity. I also have total respect for other cultures and ethnicities, and I think the two go hand in hand (i.e. learning to respect and appreciate other cultures helps you to also respect and appreciate your own). Additionally, while your survey will classify me as being in the majority ethnic group, for the last 6 years I've been part of an ethnic minority in another country, and my kids (age 3 and 7) have grown up as such. IMO it's simplistic to assume the ethnic majority will always have a stronger sense of their own ethnicity, because in my experience being part of an ethnic minority elsewhere has strengthened my cultural identity.

ETA: since moving to the Arab world, I've lived among Arabs, not in compounds with other westerners separated from Arab culture (although that's more relevent to Saudi where I used to live, in Bahrain i think everyone lives among Bahrainis)
