How to DEBLOAT in 3-4 days??

Hello,

I have a big event coming up on saturday and wish to look and most importantly, feel my best. With regret, I have picked a tight cocktail dress :O I tried it on just then.. my legs and arms are fine.. my STOMACH arrgh
I have eaten quite a lot of bread as I've been stressed about the day, like I gave up. But now.. as always after eating lots of carbs, I feel disgusted and hope to have a clean diet for 3-4 days.

Most importantly I wish to lose the bloated look as I've retained so much water. Please give me advice! I will eat 1200 calories a day or should I eat less to "detox"?
I'm thinking about mainly vegetables, 1-2 servings of fruit.. max 400 cals from protein daily. Probably won't meet 1200 cals. but will have LOTS and LOTS of veges.

DAIRY, yes or no? Just for 3-4 days no dairy is that fine?? Dairy bloats me up sometimes. Should I still drink skim milk after weight training? or eat veges instead?

SHould i drink lemon water?? any other tips please

I'm desperate!

Thanks

It sounds like you already know the foods that cause you to bloat. If you were already eating a healthy diet before, just keep eating that, but cut out the foods causing your current bloating.

Cut the refined carbs and dairy, drink lots and lots of water, and keep exercising. Watch out for cruciferous vegetables and beans. They make a lot of people bloat, especially if you haven't been eating them then add a huge amount to your diet. Cooking or medicine like beano helps if you want to eat them. Make sure to get enough protein and healthy fats. That will help keep you full.

And foundation garments are really your best friend!

    Good luck!

people bloat with different things. If you know wheat and dairy make you bloat then for goodness sake don't have them before your event. If you want to cleanse, fast, have colonics or whatever ... WE ARE NOT YOUR MOTHER, you don't need our permission to do so.

Unless you have medical issues our body and its metabolism can take quite a lot, so you can do a lot without necessarily damaging it. That said no one here would tell you that it is a great idea to eat nothing or very little leading up to an event, because a, it's against mfp terms and b, there are other issues that can come with a cleanse or a fast or whatever (spots, low energy, illness) and those symptoms can ruin the night for you just as much.

You could get your bloating checked up by a doctor after the event to make sure it is nothing serious though.

If carbs and dairy make you bloated maybe you shouldn't eat them? Just a thought.

    Also consider a bigger dress.

There is a quick trick for the day before you can use, soak in a 20 minute hot bath with epsom salts or Dead Sea salts. It works for supermodels on bikini shoots and it works for me when I am feeling a bit bloated.

I read somewhere that bananas (or anything with potassium) help with bloating. I'm sure that drinking water is an obvious solution.

Stay away from Bread (white or whole), pasta, rice and potatoes. As it's only for 4 days it can be easy for you to stick to veggs and lean meat until the big event.

This. Take it back and get a bigger size.

If you really feel like you have to 'de-bloat', then stop eating the things that you already know bloat you, keep your sodium levels low and drink plenty of water. DON'T eat a stupidly low amount of calories - it's not worth it for one night out.

Wow some rude answers here ........... LOL!!!

We have all felt bloated before a big event before.........!!!

It it was me I would try the below:

Drink lots and lots of water
Get some good exercise in to make you feel better
    Sauna/Steam
Up your protein and lower your carbs
    Drink Green tea/Peppermint
    Probiotics??
Also maybe purchase some spanx knickers - Don't buy a new dress - They always pull the belly in the make you look like you have lost lbs......

    Enjoy!!

you obviously didnt see all last weeks posts...

plus if you think people have been rude, why would you find that funny?
  • Drink lots of water! I find that my magic number is about 18 cups per day and not the 8-10 that is recommended. Just double your water intake and that should help.

The O2 Diet's four day cleanse is designed to release a lot of water weight. It's four days of the same foods though-it won't hurt you, but it's not fun. http://www.nutritiouslife.com/nlts/the-o2-diet-cleanse/

Of course I've felt bloated before a big event. To deal with it I have 1) picked a different dress that I was more comfortable in (tip: things that are loose-fitting but short are both hot AND allow you to eat) or 2) just dealt with it and had fun.

Unless you are a celebrity whose red carpet photos are going to be scrutinized in US Weekly, no one is going to notice the shape of your stomach--just be confident and happy.

you literally ask the same questions every time you post something and you haven't been listening to the advice others have given you.

your wording changes but the content is the same:huh:
"How to DEBLOAT in 3-4 days??"
"How to lose weight effectivey in one week?"
"Does diary HELP or HINDER weight loss?"
    "How to stop stomach bloating!"
    "500 CALORIES/DAY pros and cons??"
    "Are detox diets safe??"
"Want a huge meal that won't destroy my healthy plan!?"

    You: Ask question (again)
    Poster: Gives reasonable answer
    You: But 'x, y, z'

if you want to lost 1kg - 2lbs by Saturday go use the toilet when you wake up that morning.

If you are looking for real assistance losing weight safely and at a reasonable pace, people on here are more than happy to help

You know, when I was 18 years old in the Pleistocene, I was never this unrealistic about weight loss. What is it about kids today?

Stop turning it into a big drama. All this guilt and shame over food. Whatever. You know what you're supposed to do. Eat at a calorie deficit to lose weight. Don't wait until 4 days before an event to start your diet.

I mean, unless you just want to yo-yo diet your entire life, in which case, you're on the right track! :drinker:

Same question, again, OP? I'm sure the original 3 days have passed.

This website is called My Fitness Pal, not My Quick Fix Pal.

You have been told numerous times that this is not a recommended method.

Ah, just realized this is the same person.

WHAT is this big event? Now I really, really want to know. Unless someone is either a wrestler or model whose career is literally dependent on a weigh-in, I can't imagine what could be worth this much distress. Beauty pageant?! LOL.

    I am so curious. :)
