Goal Calories changes?

I've been logging for 11 days now and down 8lbs. This morning when I logged in my goal calories is LOWER than it has been. What changed? Will that happen that they change as I continue along? I haven't changed anything else.
I was only at 1330 and now I'm at 1280 (of course before exercise) but how come?

I'm not an expert on these things, but I presume, the lighter you get the less calories you burn carrying around your own weight. So it will continue to go down, as your weight goes down. Don't think it ever goes lower than 1200 for anyone though, unless you set it yourself.0

That's why I'm confused though. I didn't change my weight between yesterday and today. I weighed myself on Tues and dropped 2lbs from the previous weigh in. How come it took three days for it to change on a completely random day?0

This.
When you weigh less, you use less calories. So in order to keep a deficit from your BMR, everything reduces. Same thing happened to me. Good in many ways, slightly annoying in some, 'cause now I have to plan my meals entirely differently! That's why I'm confused though. I didn't change my weight between yesterday and today. Could just be the way the site is designed -- updates to everybody's profiles are done on a weekly basis or some such.0 -
My calories drop 60 for every 10 pounds I lose, but sometimes it takes a few days for the computer to register the change. I started at 1560 calories in April and I am now at 1380 per day.0

Well at least I know. That's annoying though. I didn't have that many calories to begin with, lol. I'd gotten into a good food routine and now it's all goofed, boo. I guess it's to make you do more exercise I guess.0

MFP is designed to compare your current weight with your starting weight and adjust your daily calorie allotment with every 10 lbs you record losing, so it's perfectly normal. The reason behind it is because as you lose weight, you need less calories to maintain your metabolism and sustain weight loss. If you continue to eat the same amount of calories you'll eventually stop losing weight and eventually gain it back. Hope this helps clarify!0

Thanks. Just worried that since it won't drop me below 1200 calories that I'll have a hard time doing enough exercise to continue to lose weight. I have a desk job so I said I had sedentary life choice. I do 30-45 min of walking and elliptical combined. I have 75lbs to lose. My starting weight was 242 and I'm at 234 now.
Is the key to add exercise and start strength training to build muscle. So that I don't stall early in my long journey? I'm so new at this and I'm really trying to change my lifestyle.0 -
It made my calorie goal go up 160 when I dropped down "10 pounds"(it really asked me at 14 pounds). I'm scared if I eat more calories everyday then I'll gain some of the weight back.0
