Skipped period, stopped losing?

I'm on the pill so I can easily skip my period by not taking the sugar pills at the end of my pack and starting a new pack right away. I don't normally do this often (I know there's no medical need for a period every month but if freaks my husband out and he blames every ailment for the next month and a half on the fact that I skipped my period). Last month we were going to be in Vegas so I skipped. My weight loss stalled for 3 weeks until I started my next period and then I lost 4 pounds in a couple of days. Was this just a coincidence or could skipping my period have caused me to hold on to a lot of water weight?

Could be hormone/water-retention related. I'm no longer on a tri-cycle bc pill like that (now use progesterone only mini-pill) but I tend to see my biggest loss a few days after my period starts.

Agree. I'm on the mini-pill as well, and I see a trend with the way I lose weight month to month. Hormones can definitely affect the way your body loses or holds onto weight, especially if you're changing them around. Just give your body a little while to adjust and balance out again.

weight loss and gain is not linear- it happens- esp if you are tinkering with added hormones. relax- keep doing what you are doing.

It's probably water weight. When I was on the pill and regular, I would gain about 3-4 pounds the week before my period and lose it by about day two of bleeding. Now, because I'm irregular, it changes slightly - but it always seems to come off after I get my period.
