Something finally clicked...

Hey everyone! I've been on this site (well the app mostly) since 2011 and the first time I found it and used it I lost almost 40 pounds but I fell off like most people do. But something clicked in my head about 2 months ago. I was having weird chest pains and palpitations (turned out to be anxiety) and it freaked me out and I said to myself, I can't live like this anymore. Always waiting for the shoe to drop on my health (I had never had any real complications from my weight.)

So I got back on MyFitnessPal, joined the gym at work, started working with a trainer, started prepping my meals and I've already lost about 25 pounds. I feel fantastic and I'm so looking forward to continuing to see how my body changes. I'm so addicted to the results! Of course I have my bad moments but a bad moment doesn't make a bad day and a bad day doesn't make bad week. At least that's my philosophy :) Here are my stats.

36
Female
Height: 5' 5"
Starting Weight: 340+ (scale only went up to 339 :(
Current Weight: 317
Goal Weight: 155 for now

I'm not using a diet plan, just MFP. I log EVERY day and I log EVERYTHING.

Add me!

The things that go on in our body behind the scenes when we aren't healthy are scary. One day, something just HAPPENS. You have chest pain, or you feel a growth somewhere, or you wake up and your vision has dimmed almost overnight. Like you, I had my moment AFTER the fact. I wish I had made a decision because it was the right thing to do, instead of being forced to make a decision. But nevertheless, here we are and we are all about it now. No matter what the reason, we have been compelled to take our lives more seriously and to value that life! Welcome back to Fitness Pal and I am certain you'll see continued and greater success! Let's get after it, shall we?!?

You're absolutely right and yes I wish I would have started sooner. I'm 36, about to be 37 in January so I'm sure it would have been easier in my twenties but I don't dwell on that. I'm really focused now and just looking forward to going into my 40's fit and fabulous! Thanks so much for reaching out. Support is everything. Something that I learned and truly appreciate this time around.

    Let's get it!

What clicked in me a few months ago, but it was similar! I was having pains in my legs to the point where I couldn't walk (Vitamin B deficiency), I realized I hadn't used my kitchen in weeks because I was always eating out, and every time I ran for the bus, I was out of breath for a good half hour.

I made the change, and I'm still making them. Every day is a struggle, and every day (usually) I'm working towards that goal.

I'm down 13 pounds, and I couldn't be more excited. Now to lose another 4 by Christmas and I'll be stoked!
