4lbs in 2 days

I joined mfp at the end of october when i was 16st 11lb (2lb was more water weight because it would fluctuate between 11lbs and 9lbs daily) at 6'2. I didn't really start using it until November and i have stuck to it ever since. I lost 6lbs in the first 2wks and then 1lb the following week, my weight loss kind of stalled during my period but i went on to lose 2lb by this sunday gone. Overall, 9lbs in 5weeks
I usually weigh myself every morning. When i stepped on the scale on:
sunday, i was at 16st 2lb,
monday morning 16st
this morning 15st 12lbs
Is it possible to lose that much weight so quickly? I did change the way i was eating just a couple of days ago by reducing my calorie intake from 1900kcal to 1640kcal but i usually consume around 1300-1500kcal. I try consuming most of my carbs during the day, of course along side with fats and protein but then have more protein by night. This is what i've done for the last 3days but to lose 4lbs in 2 days because of this?
I hope someone can shed some light on this

I have not been eating salads or drinking shakes. I've been having a proper meal e.g chips, turkey drummers, potatoes, bread etc0

Weight loss isn't linear. It may be that you had lost the fat over a longer time scale, but it didn't show up on the scale because of water retention (especially because of your period), so then all of a sudden you lose that water and can see it on the scale. There are other factors such as changes in exercise programmes, and consuming different amounts of carbs and sodium. If you were losing 2 lbs a day over time, that would be worrying, but chances are that you have lost a chunk, and then will not lose any more for a few days. Try to pay attention to your average weight loss over a week or 10 days. That will probably be a much more reasonable rate. It can also be due to sodium retention and glycogen storage.0
