So my calorie goal is 1600 (2100-500 for normal weightloss), I am 165cm and weigh 55kg approx. (don't weight myself). I don't want to lose a lot of weight just 1 or 2 kilos. So do I need to have a deficit net? How much deficit do I need? 500? I workout 5 times a week with a combination of weights and cardio, I have done so already for about 2 months consistently and have noticed good changes with my muscle definition but just need to lose a bit more excess fat. Never counted calories before so I am new to this:)
Also I know your body burns calories throughout the day but can you add this into MFP? Thanks:)

250 cals/day with so little to lose, or 10% from your TDEE which would be 210 cal deficit, if 2100 is your maintenance.
  • Thankyou, so do I set my calorie goal to 1600 or 2100?

Fill in all the information about yourself on MFP. Choose lose 1/2 lb per week as your goal. It will give you a calorie number to aim for. Weigh and measure all your food and log it. If you do exercise you can log that and it's your choice if you want to eat that back. Your everyday calories burned is counted for in your budget. You only add intentional exercise that you do on top of your daily activities.
  • When I add strength exercises it doesn't estimate calories? I did I HIT workout and most with strength exercises and it wont let me add calories? I know I would have burnt around 400 calories but it says only 21!

Use a heart rate monitor for an accurate reading or enter it in as circuit training under cardio.
  • Thanks! Think I've got the hang of it now!
