A New Year and a "New Me"

My name is Dave and the past 2 years have been a struggle for me getting used to my metabolism slowing down and letting work consume my time over regularly working out. I guess you never know what you truly look like until a picture of you is taken and the harsh relaity sets in. I am now ready to set aside some "me" time and make a complete lifestyle change to get back to the fitness level I once had and be happy when I look in th emirror at myself and especially not worry about any unflattering pictures.
I want to ensure I am a positive role model for my 8 year old son and be able to be more active with him in various activiites throughout the summer-including going ot the pool and swimming with him. My weight goal is to get to 190 pounds- meaning a 51 pound weight loss. My fitness goal is to get back to running semi-long distance... no more than a half marathon due to time constraints for training. I know I can get there, I just need to stay motivated and develop a true habit of this healthy change. Any help or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
