For most of my adult life I've been active. I do martial arts, kayaking, and other fun sports. I love to dance, hula hoop, and other such nonsense For exercise I like to run, and I usually bike for transportation here in Washington DC.
At the end of June I had some pretty stressful, traumatic things happen in my life and, unbelievably, I have gained five pounds in the past month. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale!
I'm a fairly small lady, and most of my adult life I've been pretty right on target at 104-105 pounds. But I've been monitoring myself over the past week I've weighed in around 110 or even 112 if it's after a meal! This sudden increase alarmed me. Like I said, I had some stressful things happen to me, which would have been considered traumatic for most people. As a result I was really soft on myself through July and early August. I didn't exercise much, I ate too much rich food, and was generally totally self-indulgent. It's time to take back the reigns and melt away this extra fluff I've accumulated this summer, so I can be light on my feet again, able to dance, leap, and float like a butterfly!
My Inspirations:
Life is a dance! Be light on your feet!
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee!
Great sex
One of my goals is to exercise for 60 minutes four times a week. I'm going to go running in a park by my house, or (if it's too hot), do an aerobics workout indoors. I look forward to the support and being a part of a community of wonderful people committed to fitness!!! See you all on the boards
