I'd like to know. How in the heck does someone NOT get smacked by someone else's resistance band?

I've had a quick look and, like most 'exercises' that combine two disciplines, it appears to miss the point and benefits of both.

really... I couldn't find anything online. Why does it miss the benefits?

Because it's not enough resistance for resistance training, and it slows them down and makes their steps so small that they start to miss out on the cardio benefits.

Sounds like a terrible idea for the reasons the Smasher stated. Just let the dancing be dancing and the resistance training stand on its own

Why don't you just take up Zumba Toning? They use light hand weights and also incorporate the dancing, although it is more specific to light resistance training. You should not try using resistance bands while doing normal Zumba as the dance routines are not made for that!

IDK sometimes I have trouble just remembering my water, what if you forget one of those props one day?

@kellehbeans : That sounds like a better idea :) I thought Zumba Sculpt and tone would serve this purpose, maybe.

now the whole class seems to have had a theft of their bands...

bands and light toning weights crime is up, mostly because they are so light and easy to run off with.

because zumba is a cardio class.

    plain and simple.
