Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - the original one
Ok, for the record, because this is a pet peeve for me:
The book is called:
The first film adaptation of the novel was called:
(Called so in order to highlight the talent of Gene Wilder]
The second film adaptation of this book was given the same name as the novel:
(Called so to bring Charlie back as the highlight of the story, and to present a film that more closely aligned with the Dahl's novel)
So when referring to the first film, just say, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." If referring to the second film, then just say, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." There is only ONE movie called "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," so to call it "the first one" makes no sense.
Now go eat some SweetTarts or an Everlasting Jawbreaker and contemplate reading the novel again as an adult! :bigsmile:
