Healthy or unhealthy
1 serving mixed berries
1 serving vanilla body fortress protien powder
1 serving of flax meal
1 serving of spinach.
This is what I have bern making dh for breakfast most days (other days it is a chocolate peanutbutter and bannana with flax)
I just read an article pretty much saying all smoothies are bad for you.
He is no where near as hungry as he used to be and usualy brings home half his lunch now.
(Quina, salsa, black beans in a whole wheat wrap, salad, 1 serving almonds, a bunch of carrots or easy to munch on raw veggie)

A smoothie wouldn't work for me.....it's like I need to chew something.....but everyone is not the same.0 -

This is the article.0 -
Smoothies are great for you, especially if you're adding the leafy green veggies (like the spinach).0

I think if people are having smoothies as drinks it's going to be a problem - at least that's what I understand the article to be saying. The berry smoothie you're making sounds fine - it's nothing that you wouldn't eat in one serving. Maybe rethink the pb and choc shake - sugar spike!0
-
The article isn't talking about whole-food green smoothies you make at home - it's discussing general overconsumption of mass-marketed fruit drinks and smoothies. You're fine.0

Ps will you make my lunch for me?! Sounds lovely!!0

Yeah that really does sound pretty good0

There are article on the interwebz that say the earth is flat, too.
Point being that you need to choose carefully the sources you believe.
You know the ingredients in your smoothie are wholesome and healthy. Ignore the Guardian.0 -

Just ensure you calculate the calories, or macros if that's your thing, accurately and go about your business.
The article you linked looks dissapointing to me. About as sketchy as all the articles I see regarding aspartame...0 -

Macros?0 -
Macros is a term used by many when discussing the 3 sources which comprise calories. Carbohydrates, Fats and Proteins. Carbohydrates and Proteins are both 4 calories per gram and Fat is 9 calories per gram. *Sugars are a refined carbohydrate. Many people split these macros up by percentages to calculate exactly how many of each they are allowed to eat each day such as (40% of your calories coming from Carbs, 40% from protein and 20% from fats). Not everyone likes this approach, but it does help many many people reach their goals.
*Splitting up Macros is not necessary for you to reach any specific goal. It's simply another approach that helps certain people keep their calorie goals in check0 -
I have that protein smoothie all the time and I think it is great and healthy!0
