Hello. Im fairly new to this site and i read that alot of people are doing the 30ds so i bought it. I then read that it builds muscle. Im trying to get rid of my belly fat more than anything. What would be best for me to do? Will this dvd help me get rid of the belly or will it just build mucles?

I am in the same boat. Cardio is always a good way of losing the fat..but then you gotta make sure you tone up. So I do cardio 5x/wk and toning every other day or every 3 days. I have a pilates reformer so have been using that & I love it!
  • I lost 2" off my waist doing Chalene extreme which is a strength building program. So I would not dismiss muscle building exercises or strength training to loose belly fat. Muscles are going to burn calories 24 hours a day, while cardio only burns while you are doing it.
Really the best way to loose belly fat is going to be a mix of strength training, cardio and clean eating. There really is no magic pill or spot exercise that will make it go away, and believe me I wish there was.

I think that 30 Day Shred will help you lose fat and tone up. You want to do both to burn more calories thus losing more fat. As far as losing fat in a certain area no exercise will do that. So give the program a try and go from there. Eventually the belly will slim down.
  • I've always heard that when it comes to the belly fat, clean eating is the most important thing! (like 80%) You can work out all you want and you will strengthen the abdominal muscles, but they'll hide behind the fat if you keep eating unhealthy. Unless you work out A LOT!

    Is this all true???

I've heard that its almost all cardio to get rid of belly fat, walking, running, biking etc. I wish I could find the mens health article about it. A man wrote in complaining that he couldn't get rid of his tummy even though he was working out everyday (sit ups etc), and the answer was that he needed to do more cardio (mainly jogging), at least everyday.
