Healthy weight, eating plenty but no period?

I haven't been getting my period for the last almost nine months. I'm 18, 5'9 and weigh 130 pounds. I don't know my body fat % but I know it's low because I have a significant amount of muscle and not a lot of fat. I exercise around 6 days a week but not intensely...mostly just brisk walks with some strength training a couple days a week if I have time. According to my activity level I should eat around 2000 calories a day. I usually aim for that but also have plenty of days where I eat a good 500-600 over that amount. I sometimes do this in hopes that if I eat a bit more on some days and maybe gain a little bit of weight it might bring my period back. But it doesn't. I had a very short period in August when I was exercising not very much and a little spotting last month but nothing regular. It's not like I'm an endurance athlete for gods sake. I just walk. And I eat plenty. What on earth is the issue here?

well the oracle is taking a break right now, so perhaps a doctor would be the right port of call0

Yes, PLEASE see your gynecologist! I would go several months (or even a couple years) between periods because of PCOS issues and I didn't see my doctor and when I finally did, I had developed a sort of pre-cancer and had to get a D&C to determine my future. Luckily it turned out OK, but I was told that I need to have a full period at least every 3 months or the cells that get "stuck" up there can start to change and turn into cancer. You're still young, so I wouldn't worry too much about THAT, but I wouldn't get in the habit of it. You need to find out what's out of whack to screw up your cycle.0

Yup. You need to see a doctor. Nobody here can tell you what the problem is. There are too many possible issues and only an exam and possibly blood work are going to give you the answer. You should have gone months ago... I'd get in as soon as you can.0

Go see your doctor (gyn). They can give you something to induce your period. I have had issues in the past. My doctor told me that if 3 months go by with no period, that I should go see her to get the medication to induce it. They might also recommend for you to see an endocrinologist to check out your hormones as they are key to our bodily processes.0

What was your activity and food intake like 9-10 months ago when your period went on the fritz? If thats approx when you started exercising/dieting or losing weight it could very possibly be a hypothalamic amenorrhea ( a stressed induced loss of period that will likely trouble you the rest of your life)
Again, as everyone has said, see your doctor. Find a good one, prefereably an Endo, who will actually run the right tests.
Don't let a doctor write you off, and just tell you to gain weight, or take X pill..... You know your body. You know when something is wrong.
A woman's menstruation cycle is a vital sign, just like blood pressure and temperature. If your period is no-show, it means something.0
