Counting calories and breast feeding.. ?

Hello! Im a mom of a beautiful 10 month old baby girl and currently breastfeeding. I just started MFP yesterday and realized today my calories counter cant be accurate because Im breastfeeding. In order to produce enuff milk i was told i had to eat an extra 200 calories but if im working out and dieting im losing calories so how do i know if im eating enuff buf yet not too much to be able to produce milk n lose weight all at the same time... see confusing isnt it?! Heeelp moms how do i count my calories correctly so baby and i can get what we need?... advice!

I'm breastfeeding a 21 month old and adding 500 extra calories because she still nurses so frequently. Eating anything less, and it was affecting my milk supply. It's really just something you're gonna have to kinda figure out through trial and error. I started eating only 250 extra and my milk tanked. Once I increased my calories, everything evened out and I continued to lose weight. I do not, however, eat back all of my exercise calories (only about 1/3 of them) since I'm not 100% how accurate my burn is. I have averaged a 1.5 - 2 pound loss a week so this seems to work out well for me. Feel free to add me if you'd like. I breastfeed my daughter, I just set MFP to loss .5 lbs a week and eat back most of my exercise calories. My supply seems to be good and I am losing about 1.5 pounds a week.
If you start losing your supply up your calories, if you aren't losing as much as you would like decrease them. It is a little bit of trial and error.0 -
tx guys really tryin to setup a routine but its harder than i thought. with this mfp support its starting too look good.0
