Also from Poughkeepsie, but I do not consider myself to be from Upstate LOL. Anyone from the area feel free to send me a FR. I'm using my phone right now on the mfp website so I won't really able to read the responses on here until I'm back on my computer this afternoon.0

That's pretty funny - I'm originally from the Syracuse area too (Marcellus, if ANYONE'S heard of it) - but - people from NYC think anything over the Tappan Zee Bridge is 'Upstate NY'!0
-
I am from Buffalo, NY which is western NY. Feel free to add me. Becky is right, NYC folk think anything outside of Manhattan is upstate.0
-
Another one from the 'Cuse! I've lived in most parts of the state at one point or another, though, from Rockland County up to the border (my mom could see Canada from the maternity ward!).0

Well we will consider you all upstate as long as you are not Long Island way...he he..I am from Rochester where there is no outdoor exercising for me in this chilly weather!0

My wife and her family is originally from Endicott. Spent way too many weekends driving on Rte 17. Endless hours.0

Orange County (Monroe) here, although not too far north on the map, I still consider it upstate since I'm originally from Brooklyn (Flatbush).............0
-
I am! Anyone Feel free to add!0

I live a few miles from the Canadian border...... the real upstate NY0

Originally from Cobleskill, moved to Duanesburg, then moved to Middletown which was really "downstate," defined as anyplace NORTH of Kingston because those downstaters keep moving further north and calling it "the country!" So, we bought a house in Tupper Lake (Adirondacks) and escaped every weekend. Currently working in Michigan (so flat I actually crave the hills of upstate LOL) and spend summers and will retire in Tupper Lake! We are hopeless "upstaters." :drinker:0
-
Im on Long Island so anything above the Bronx to me is considered "up state"......I do have family spread out up there though0
-
I live in Waterloo, in the beautiful finger lakes area...wine country! Becky - I know where Marcellus is...I drive through it to get to Onondaga Hill and Jamesville!0
-
I'm originally from Rochester, now I live in a small town near Niagara falls.0

I just moved back to the east side of Rochester after being out of state for 18 years. Learning all the new places, especially the parks. Some things have changed a lot where others hardly changed at all.0
