Trying to stay motivated

Hi! I joined a long time ago, but just started using this app since weight watchers is expensive. I gained a lot of weight while pregnant and I have had a hard time controlling my eating and finding time to exercise. I needed to be held accountable somewhere. I don't have a lot of friends on here, but any encouragement and motivation is appreciated!

  • I don't have kids... but Lord know's my neighbors do! And they are a handful! It's important not to get down on yourself. It is hard to make time and stick to sold schedule when children are involved. Just remember to set reasonable goals and know that you may back slide from time to time. But that's ok! Keep moving forward and eventually you'll get to where you need to be. :)

I joined 2 months after #6 was born. I gained over 100 pounds with my twins (#4 & $5) and just couldn't lose it all.

I have found exercise doesn't have to be Zumba or long bursts- even though it helps. I started in the spring so I took the kids for a walk or to the park. If you have a gym you can take them swimming. Doing laps with the baby isn't too bad when you get used to it.

Now that it's cold out I have to make myself hit the gym after work- at 6:30am :frown:
It's more fun playing with the kids ( it's still exercise even if I don't know how to log it)

Maybe we can hold each other accountable.

I understand the kids thing and time management! Very hard for me to get started and in a routine - I always had an excuse not to exercise. I am only up to 20 minutes a day but have been staying with it for 5 weeks now. And I know this is a marathon, not a sprint. We all have at least 5 or 10 minutes of time during the day to ourselves. Start with something simple and build on it. Mine was sit ups. Make it a game to do a little better/ more than the day before - I add 1 each day if I can. You can do this and you will feel better inside for taking care of your body. I also cut out eating within 3 hours of bedtime. Made a huge difference in my weight and how well I feel each day. You can do this! Your body and mind want you to do this. Start within the next 18 hours and then commit to taking care of yourself once a day - that's your new routine!!!
