Any time I increase calories the weight just comes back on.

Eat more to lose more is a statement that's been taken out of context. If you're drastically undereating then yes, eating more can help you remain healthy and shed pounds because your body gets what it needs to feel safe in letting some fat go. If you're already eating a reasonable diet (over 1200 calories) then eating more isn't magically going to cause you to lose weight.0
