I can't meet my net calorie goal!

Hi guys, I have been using this app for a while and I just realized there was a community. Anyways, I have a lot of trouble reaching my net calorie goal, even my calorie goal in general. I just recently started drinking lots of water and I am already down 21 pounds, but it is starting to slow a little bit. My workout program consists of Turbofire, the high intensity cardio program. It is awesome and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to burn a ton of calories in shorter time. Any advice on how I can reach my net calorie goal? I always feel stuffed and can never finish my meals, I always end up spitting it out before finishing (gross I know). And I eat a lot of whole foods, fruits and veggies, nothing fried, I only drink water.. I don't know.. HELP!

put olive oil on your veggies. That adds calories and flavor. Eat a few table spoons of peanut butter. Yummy!0
-
Im not really a big oil fan and I am not even sure if I could stomach it.0
-
Nutella is your answer, then.0
-
What were you eating before you decided that you needed to lose weigh? Eat some of that.0

Nutella is accurate advice. She is under her goal, and needs more food. Why not get those calories from the most delicious food in the world?0 -
Eat a couple of cookies0

Ice cream. Wine. Steak.0

I think I opened it up. But anyways, before this, I was eating even less. I am now trying to eat more and I feel like i'm stuffing myself. I know that the reason I wasn't losing weight WAS because I was starving myself and exercising.0
-
one thing I don't understand is, how am I supposed to eat so many calories only eating 35g of sugar0
-
Don't bother tracking sugar, a carb is a carb.0

one thing I don't understand is, how am I supposed to eat so many calories only eating 35g of sugar
The sugar goal on MFP is bunk. Well, not totally bunk--but it's for added sugar, not all sugars in your diet. Look at where your sugar is coming from, and so long as less than 35g is added sugars (as opposed to natural sugars in fruits, vegetables, etc...) then you're fine.
When I wan/need more calories I go for some nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate chips, your basic trail mix.0 -

People with anorexia DO NOT *stop* losing weight because they starve themselves (and exercise)...they LOSE WEIGHT precisely *because* they starve themselves (some while exercising!)
...just sayin'!0 -

IGNORE MFP's sugar recommendation. It is understood by the vast majority of users to be horsesh*t (they automatically set it at <8% of total calories). If you're not eating a lot of packaged foods, you're getting your sugar from fruits, maybe dairy. Nothing unhealthy about that. If you're going to worry about it, just watch out for sweets, packaged foods, and fruit JUICE (even the healthy stuff is mostly sugar and way less nutritious than whole fruit). Even the anti-sugar SUBSEGMENT of qualified nutritionists generally say that 50g is a plenty restrictive sugar goal, and possibly unattainably low if your diet regularly includes dairy and fruit.0 -

Because she said her weight loss has "slowed down" so I would like to look at her diary to see the whole picture. Advising her to eat more without actually knowing what or how much she's eating is not good advice.
I still can't see it OP, can you change the settings to public? I don't intend to judge your food choices, just would like to see your current intake. thanks!0 -
It doesn't bother me, If I were eating terrible things and still losing weight then it wouldn't matter what anyone said lol0

can anyone see my stuff yet?0

Cool, thanks for opening that. So I see a couple times you have logged chicken and fish as sort of a generic "1 piece" or "4 oz" - do you have a food scale and are you weighing this out? How about measuring things like milk? Do you eyeball things like butter and salad dressing?
If you are being super accurate with your logging and it is not a possibility that you are taking in more calories than you intend, keep your yolks in your eggs, add some more butter, eat cheese and nuts. If you really are stuffed and can't possibly eat more, calorie dense is your friend. Good luck!
Eta: as for questioning your accuracy, it is not my intention to offend you at all, I just speak from experience. Before I got a food scale I was underestimating my intake quite a bit and it's completely normal to do so.0 -

I'm not trying to be rude, but you have to stop making excuses to not fuel your body properly. "I can't meet my goal," is generally always poor planning or a list of excuses not to do what you need to do. If your deficit is too high avocado, nut butter, actual dairy butter, full fat Greek yoghurt, raw nuts, coffee and or tea with cream, Quest bars, fruit juice, smoothies, dark chocolate, banana, mango, yams, maple syrup, blackstrap molasses, legumes prepared with additional protein and so forth are all good ways to up your caloric intake.
Just like we have to take responsibility to not make excuses for skipping exercise and having a caloric surplus, we need to apply that same diligence to maintaining appropriate intake. If you are choosing a high intensity workout, then you need appropriate fuel. If you are eating foods that fill you up to point of negative physical reaction something is off kilter. You have to be honest with yourself about why you are not doing what you need to do. Your daily eating routine should not become associated with physically feeling poor. Is that really a psychological pattern that you want to become ingrained?0 -
one thing is, I really don't drink milk or eat a lot of cheese, Lactose intolerance... and I don't substitute it either. I don't eat butter or anything like that but if I do I track it. I do have a scale for measuring and most of the time I buy pre-weighed tilapia or chicken.0

I can see your stuff.
Question..
Instead of the Multigrain English Muffin and the single slice of cheese, and Land O'frost - Smoked Ham & Oven Roasted Turkey Sub Sandwich Kit, 5 slices 57 gramswhy not eat 1 cup of oatmeal ??
Instead of the Popcorn Chicken, 20 pieces, why not a full chicken breast w/salad or pasta?
Also consider eating Rice cakes, there very good0 -
Got it. In that case I recommend nuts and peanut butter. Or chocolate!
Eta: these will also help with your fat intake which is pretty low. Dietary fat is very, very important so try not to go under your fat goal. Protein and fat are minimum targets and can be exceeded.0 -
The topic should have been: Attention needed!
You are really abusing us. Please inform youself about healthy weight loss. October your intake was around 500/600 per day. And a person coming from over 200 pounds really forgot how to eat???
Please don't starve youself you are doing bad things to your body and when you cannot keep up anymore you will put the weight back.
I would suggest medical advice0 -
Yes, I can see your diary. In my opinion (others will tell you my opinion is crap) you are eating too much processed food. Your sodium numbers are high for the calorie number. Try to play with the sodium and protein numbers, ignoring the calorie number for a few days. Try to keep your sodium between 2000 and 2500 and your protein above 80, see what happens.0
-
I try, I even bought no sodium salt and that is all I eat, but I suppose that the frozen dinners from weight watchers still aren't healthy. lol0
-
and today was really a eat whatever day yesterday I only ate 800 or so of sodium0
-
Sodium may effect water retention but it is really not anything to worry about unless you have health concerns that require a low intake. Sodium is an electrolyte, so actually, not getting enough is detrimental.0
-
No, my point is not no sodium (been there, done that, don't do that) it is to be more mindful of what you are eating. I used to eat a lot of frozen packaged food, deli meat, etc. When I cut back (not out) and started to be more mindful of whole foods and their time to prepare and to digest, I became more healthy. Although I have made my mistakes during my weight loss, two pieces of advice that were given to me on MFP were to up my protein and to eat whole seeds. My days of frustration and starvation were over! I stopped worrying about the calories so much as planning for the content.0

OP: You are NOT fueling your body. you're hurting your body. Some days are very low. Please eat. Eat some FOOD. Ignore the comments to eat more snack food. EAT SOME FOOD.0
