How can I discipline myself?

I'm trying to maintain a healthy weight for my size but I keep eating way over my calorie limit! I'll end up eating up to 2,500 a day instead of being around 1600. How do you keep yourself from going on occasional binges ? How do you stop yourself from eating anything that is in front of you and edible?

    For myself I had to detox from sugar, I took 2 weeks and ate nothing but healthy fresh veggies and lean meats and whole grains. I made sure to stay 100% away from items with sugar in them as well. After the two weeks, I slowly started adding fruits and healthy foods that had sugar in them, back into my lifestyle. Now I have no issues of binge eating or craving sweets and if I want sweets its because I choose to eat them, not having my body SCREAMING that I need them.
