Outback Steakhouse--Just Right with Some Rules!

My husband really wanted Outback tonight for supper and I figured, how hard can it be?
My usual meal at Outback consisted of the chopped pecan salad with bleu cheese crumbles with Ranch dressing AND tangy tomato dressing on the side (my only attempt at eating well), 6 oz Outback Special, a loaded baked potato and some bread iced with whipped butter.
I decided ahead of time that we would get it to go and eat at home so I could use my own spray butter and sour cream to save some calores and fat. I went online and compared what was listed on OB's website with what was already in MFP's database and boy was I ever surprised!!! Salads with more than 30 fat grams, chicken with more fat than beef, and sodium content out of this world!
I opted for the house salad with tangy tomato dressing on the side, my usual 6oz sirlion minus butter and seasonings (and believe it or not, the flavor was still wonderful it just wasn't salty like it usually is), a baked potato that I dipped in boiling water to remove any butter or seasoning that was on the outside topped with spray butter, sour cream and chives. Oh and half a loaf of their wonderful bread.
So what was the damage you ask? 779 Calories; 24g Fat; 90g Carbs; 53g Protein; 6g Fiber; and 785mg Sodium. This is more than I usually allow myself in a single meal but Saturday's are my toughest days to contend with and I still finished under my calorie, carb, and fiber allowance. My fat grams were only over by 1; proteins over by 24 which is a lot but most days I do well to get all of them in so I'm not sweating it; and my sodium was over by 265 and I'm not going to worry about that today because I did super duper this week staying below my daily allowance of sodium.
So I'm just super pumped right now and had to share. Now it's time to throw a load of clothes in the washer and walk on the treadmill. :flowerforyou:  :flowerforyou:

That's great. When it comes to Outback I always lose the battle. I eat the loaded fries, salad with ranch dressing and sweet potato, and of course a filet mignon. I still don't have enough will power to overcome Outback. So Great Job.0

I Outback! The 6oz sirloin for $9.99 is such a great deal. I usually get the steak w/ steamed veggies and a salad w/ dressing on the side. It is one of the few places that I can go out to eat and still feel really good about what I ordered!0
