Confused with what I want to do.

I've been dieting for the past year now and have lost about 50 pounds. I am now in the low area of the healthy weight range. I am not completely happy with my weight in some areas (legs) but I feel I have become a little skinny in the stomach area as my hip bones and ribs have started to stick out, and my family members have started to say "get some food down you" and "God, you're so skinny. You've lost too much". I am stuck on what I want to do; lose a little more and see what happens with my legs, maintain, or like people I know are saying I need to do - gain. Help??

If you feel you have become too skinny but don't want to put on fat, use resistance exercise to put on muscle instead.

When you loose weight, you loos it all over, so maybe your build is having thick legs. So if you loose more weight you will loose weights in areas you don't want to either. I had that problem so I stuck to maintenance. More protein and calories (Eat less food more often.) while I worked out regularly.
  • You won't "lose weight" in your legs. First, look at the older members in your family---what are their body types? Yours will be similar. Specific excercise for your legs (several areas) will be what shapes and tones them, not weight loss. Boney hips etc. are usually not attractive to anyone. Listen to those around you. Do they have reason to be concerned? Also, please accept that your body is 40, not 20.
