Has anyone ever done Herballife? NEED some advice please.

Long story short.

Started at 308 pounds in February 2012. Found this website and used it along with exercise and just ate "normal" healthy portions and learned how to eat right. I lost 68 pounds by September of 2012 getting down to 240. I slowly slipped back into bad habbits and by around February 2013 I was up to 272 pounds. I never got higher than that and from February 2013 until November I was up and down anywhere from 262 to 272. I felt like I needed to try something different so elected to try Herballife. I started 5 and a half weeks ago at 270 pounds and am now down to 255 pounds. I have some concerns though.

My first concern is that the weight loss has slowed down tremendously and I have even added exercise which wasn't there over the first 2 weeks. I lost 5 pounds in each of the first two weeks, 4 pounds the third week, 2 pounds the fourth week, and over half way through week 5 I haven't lost anything. I have kept track of my calories, protein, water in take etc and have hit my marks every day except Thanksgiving and one day this week. As I said I began to exercise about 2 weeks ago as well. There is no logical reason that the weight loss should halted to the point where I have lost only 2 pounds in almost 2 weeks.

My second concern I had is one I had when I started it. The person who sold it to me is a family friend and I sought them out and told them from the door I wanted to buy thew product. That being said, I was and am skeptical that this stuff is any better than doing slim fast or special protein shakes despite being told that this is "celluar nutrition" and provides vitamins, minerals, and an energy level that other liquid diets do not. She also said you lose weight "differently" on herballife and you won't have loose skin from losing high amounts of weight.

My third concern is long term success. I once lost 75 pounds in 5 months doing slimfast and gained all of it back PLUS 10 pounds in about 6 months. I don't want to do a diet where I am set up to fail in trying to maintain my weight loss. Again, my sales rep assured me if I simply did one shake a day and two meals that I would easily keep the weight off once I reached my goal and elected to maintain my weight as a goal.

My fourth concern is that I am hungry all of the time, don't like the taste of the shakes, and am getting virtually no satisfaction whatsoever from food. When I just ate "Normal" and balanced and kept my calories in the 1,500 - 1,800 area long with exercise and used my fitness pal I was losing at a higher rate than I have been recently on herballife and was able to eat plenty of foods that I loved because I learned to eat in moderation, make good choices, and plan ahead. Hell, I ate pizza, cheese burgers, I'd eat late at night and not go to bed hungry and was kicking *kitten*.

My 5th and final concern is money. Bottom line, 130 dollars a month for weight loss supplements is crazy to me and ends up being more than I ever paid for slim fast and way more than I paid to just buy healthier foods and avoid fast food using my fitness pal.

I think I know what I need to do. I've lost 15 pounds, I'm back to exercising and using healthier eating habbits, bottom line I got a jump start. I really think I need to transition off of the herballife though and go back to simply eating well and balanced and tracking my calories on my fitness pal. Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated as it is always good to hear things from others and if anyone has used herballife and would be willing to share your experiences with it I would appreciate that as well. Thank you.

I think you have answered your own questions here. Hopefully you will come back to a more balanced and satisfying approach to weightloss with which I am sure you will have great success. That you are also willing to exercise is excellent. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope to read about your success in the future.

There's your answer. Why pay lots of money to feel miserable and not enjoy food. You know what works (see above) so do that.

Nooooo! Ditch the Herbalife! It's not re-educating you about healthy choices, portion size and exercise and really can't be a long term solution, this is a life long journey not a "diet" or a "programme".
Spend your hard-earned cash on a gym membership or new running shoes or steak or anything other than Herbalife:flowerforyou:

Thanks for the responses everyone. I know I was kind of answering my own questions by making that post which was something I needed. But I also need to hear advice from others. It helps me to validate what I am thinking and give me fresh perspectives if I need them. I still need to take some time to think about what I am going to do but after thinking about this all day and getting feedback from just a few people I certainly know what direction I am heavily leaning towards.
