In Place of a Road Map help?

I read Helloitsdan's In Place of a Road Map post yesterday. I'm a bit confused though. According to Fat 2 Fit, my TDEE is 2078 (lightly active) - 20% = 1662 cals/day. Therefore, I'm allowed to eat up to and below this every day right? On this diet am I supposed to eat back calories after every workout? Or would it be better to simply eat 1662 (or below) everyday and have one "cheat" day a week where I go back up to 2078 to boost metabolism? Or am I literally just supposed to eat 1662 everyday and that's it?

Those of you who have read it, please help me out!

Thanks

Your TDEE figure INCLUDES your exercise so you don't eat back exercise calories. If you use the MFP method, you set your activity level without including exercise, which is what you then eat back exercise calories.

Thanks, so do you recommend going back up to 2078 cals once a week, or only when I plateau?

think of the number 1662 as "my recommended calorie intake for the day, plus the 'eat back' calories from exercise". therefore, you eat 1662 every day. if you log your exercise, then manually log it as "1" calorie (because MFP doesn't accept less than one calorie burned).

after you follow this number for a few weeks, logging consitantly and weighing your foods, taking photos and measurments as well as weighing yourself, you will see if you should be actually eating more or less per day.

I am not a fan of the cheat day so i won't coment on that.

I agree- it is trail and error. Our bodies don't always mat h up to the estimates we use.

Again- I wouldn't have a 'cheat day' per se but you could save up calories during the week by eating less than your 1662 for a little treat once a week.
