Opinions on Muscle Milk - lack of protein

MM powder was on sale, so I grabbed it. I'm used to most protein powders being ~150 calories and 25-30g of protein. MM was 16g. I don't get much protein and was pretty disappointed when I finally realized that. So I ask, is it worth it? Does it have phenomenal taste or other benefits that I can't get with any other one? I usually just get the Body Fortress, as it is only $15/2lb at the local grocery store with 30g of protein.

I was so mad at myself for not reading the label properly. :\

I've never tried powdered muscle milk but I've tried the bottled version and it is SO gross. I would not drink it ever again willingly!

Search Consumer Reports Muscle Milk exposee where the protein powder had numerous fillers. There was a lawsuit and CR won.

There was a very unofficial protein powder analysis done on reddit years ago which showed most manufacturers were short filling the protein content. It was not a proper study but that is all we have except for the CR study. Optimum Nutrition did well in this one. BF did not do to well.

Find one made in a GMP facility and by a company with high standards. For example Ultimate Nutrition Iso Sensation 93 but it is pricey.

NB: here is one link there are a few http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine-archive/2010/july/food/protein-drinks/what-our-tests-found/index.htm

^^ Definitely, the premade one is nasty. And for the most part, pretty much every other powder/ready made drink I see has more protein in it for roughly the same calories. It just happens to have a super cool name is all.
