This is something I struggle with, big time. I still haven't adjusted to my new size, or as I describe it, my brain still thinks I'm a fat girl.

Here are a few tips I've gleaned from too much therapy.

First: anytime you find yourself thinking something negative about yourself, immediately find something positive to focus on. Here's a for instance: "I hate my thighs. . .they're too big. . .blah, blah, blah negative thought. But. . .I think my waist is getting really small, and I've worked hard at that." This works much better than "don't think negatively." It gives you a specific job. And believe me, there are some days when I still have to search high and low for a positive.

The other thing is, take pride in your appearance all the time. Dress in clothes that fit the body you have right now. Don't wait for "I'll buy new clothes when I lose some weight." Look good right now. Take the time to groom yourself to a level that pleases YOU (not what society might think. . .if you don't like to wear make-up, I don't think you need to, for example) I used to make a big effort to be invisible, by being what Oprah calls a "shlumpadinka" (sweatpants for all occasions, for example)

You have a fantastic smile in your profile pic. Use it. Smile at people, look them in the eye. It makes them feel nice, and you'd be amazed at how nice it makes you feel. (I am naturally an extreme introvert, so this is a major hurdle for me)

Hope some of those help. They sound cheesy, especially the first one, but they have really worked for me.

I think these are great ideas, I always found when I dressed in clothes that actually fit, I feel more confident. Also exercise, makes me feel pretty great as well. Every morning think of something new to add to a list of things you like about yourself, or if anyone pays you a compliment write that down too. Focus on these things and build onto them!! It will take time but every little thing helps!!
