I'm 18 5'7 and 192 pounds. I've lost about four pounds so far but I'm the type of person who needs very specific instructions. To lose fifty pounds by June, what are exercises and things I can do? What has worked for you? You do you guys do??

I'm 37 5'8 and when I started I weighed 195. I currently weigh 156 pounds. I started on September 29th. So, just past 10 weeks I have lost 39 pounds, so no doubt you can do it. I never would have imagined losing so much so fast. Granted I still have 10 pounds to go to reach my goal, I can share what I have done. However, from reading hours and hours and hours of posts on this site, I have come to realize that I have no doubt in mind that no two people lose weight the same, just like no two people's lives are the same. Bottom line is you will have to find out what works for you and it could take some time and the key is to be consistent, especially when times get tough.
1-4 weeks--I did at least 1 hour Cardio per day. Typical day would be 20-30 minutes running then 40-30 minute stationery bike.
3 times a week 30 min Strength training
5-8 weeks-- 1 hour Cardio. 30-40 minutes running 20 min Bike...3 times a week 40 min Strength Training
9- Current week- 45 minutes Cardio- Either 45 Minutes Running or Intervals on Stationery Bike. 3 times a week 60 Strength Training
Nutrition---1600 calories per day. 10-12 cups of water.... No breads, No pasta, No added salt, limited diary. Pretty boring diet.
I know that I have probably lost some Lean Muscle Mass since I've lost a lot quick, but I'm very happy with how my body looks and I have no loose skin.
If I had to do again, would probably, do more strength training and less cardio. Right now I'm upping my calories and slowly introducing different foods. The last few weeks weight loss has slowed downed (not too much), but that would be expected.
Good luck!!!! Six months you can definitely do it.0 -
I did it.
I just followed MFP...made sure I logged everything accurately. Some running and lifting.0 -
If I keep up at the same pace (which isn't always the case), I'll be on track to lost 40 lbs in six months. It's definitely possible. It is important to note though that weight loss can get slower as you get smaller. I'd try to take it one day at a time with a bunch of short-term goals at first.0

I've lost 37lbs since July (from obese BMI to normal BMI).
I started out walking/ jogging in the jogging stroller with my toddler. Then used the small gym at my apartment complex (treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical 4X week) Strength training 3X week. Now I have no access to a gym so I workout from home. Mostly bodyweight routines 2X week, HIIT cardio 4X week, yoga or pilates 2X week. www.fitnessblender.com is great! No equipment necessary
Foodwise, I ate 1200 calories for like 2 1/2 months, then upped it to 1350 calories. I easily eat over 1500 calories a few days a week now. I wouldn't suggest 1200 calories unless you have a lot of willpower.
Good luck! You can do it!0 -
I lost 40 pounds in a little over 6 months. My starting weight was 176. I did a lot of workout videos in the beginning but began running 2/3 of the way through. I run 3x a week and do strength training at least once a week. Nutrition wise, I net 1200 calories a day, meaning I eat back my exercise calories. Good luck with your weight loss!0
