1 week in to the app....

Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to the app.. I've been on for 1 week. My issue with the app is that I am used to eating 1 meal a day...have been doing this since high school... and now because of my crazy schedule. I am a nurse and never have time to eat all the time! Another issue is that I work night shift, and I am having issues trying to figure out how to log what i DO eat, because at midnight, it switches over to the new day. It messes me up..... I work nights 3 days a week, and sleep two of the 4 days I do have off... The other two, I'm on a day schedule.... I DONT KNOW WHEN TO EAT!! HA.....! I do exercise on my days off, maybe 2 times a week at the moment because I'm not in my hometown with my 24/7 gym .... I am kind of upset because I have been making a conscious effort to eat the 1200 calories that I am allowed for the day, and I have gained 4 lbs this past week ... I'm looking for some tips/advice.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hello
What I find helpful is to record my food in time slots not meal names. Using the 6 slots in 4 hour increments starting 12 am (midnight) 12:00 AM TO 04:00 AM etc. and finishing midnight.
You can change your settings at http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings
Using this method means that whatever my schedule, eating pattern or sleeping pattern I have an accurate record of what I have eaten in the full 24 hour period for that date and it may help you in planning for your night shifts.0
