I'm working with Steve (stroutman) and loving it so far.
I'd spent about 9 months on MFP and about 15 years before that reading and learning about training and nutrition. I knew the basics. But I was starting to get overloaded. The more I hung out the more I confused myself. I wanted someone who could quiet down all the noise, and give me a program and macros so that I didn't have to keep thinking about *what* I should be doing and I could just focus on *doing* it.
I know how to lift, but I don't know how to structure programming. As I became more of an intermediate lifter, it was getting harder to figure out what I should be doing. I'm also getting older so recovery had become a problem, but the programming I've gotten so far has been easier to recover from, definitely improving the quality of my day-to-day life
I know the basics about nutrition but I was having trouble picking some macros and sticking to them. I still am having trouble with adherence but that's on me, not Steve.
I've actually gotten so much more, things that I never expected, and perspective on my unique situation that I thought I would have to figure out on my own. My experiences with in-person training can't hold a candle to what I'm getting out of online training.0 -
I downloaded an app called 5K runner and had zero expectations. I was pleasantly suprised how well structured and easy to use that app is. I love that it shows me a graph of the nr of minutes I already ran and still have to do. I have had that app for a while and I find myself revisiting sessions just for the sake of practice before moving onto the next installment. I love that it is on my phone so I can take it with me when I travel and can use it at any hotel which has a treadmill. I love the design (yellow for running, green for walking) and at 2.99 or something I think it is well worth the money!0
