Will weight training get rid of my fat and love handles?

I'm currently eating a deficit (1400 cals) and I work out 4-5x a week. i've lost 80 pounds which I'm proud of. I was 269 Jan of 2012 and I'm at 190. I stalled out at 199 in Jan of this year but I finally broke past that. It took me all year though.
However, I still have yucky fat over me. I'm 36% body fat (I was 49% in Jan) and I honestly don't see a difference, but there has to be, I suppose. Also, is it reasonable to assume I can lose 10% body fat in 3 months? I'm just curious.
Will weight training get rid of my other fat? Are there specific exercises I can do to strengthen my back and make it look presentable?
I've started doing 30 mins of cardio in addition to lifting. Will doing these things help? Also, how long will it take (approx?)
Thanks so much,
Kassie (:

You still want to lose another 40 pounds. Losing that will help. However, there is a good chance that lifting weights will give you aesthetic results much quicker.0

Weight training is not for weight loss, fat loss, or any other loss. It's for strength gains and muscle tone. Only a calorie deficit will help you lose fat.0

You just have to continue to eat at a deficit and the fat loss will come. Definitely keep up the lifting, and cardio is awesome for your heart, and can help create a bigger deficit. Fat loss is an all. Over body process, and it can take a long while. Lift, eat at a reasonable deficit, do cardio and have patience.0

-Nothing is better for getting rid of fat then proper diet, and by that I primarily mean a caloric deficit. Weight training, when done properly, will burn about as much calories as cardio.
-Specific exercises for strenghthening back? I would recommend an assortment of compound movements including Squats, Deadlifts, lunges, pullups, pushups, dips, barbell bent over rows, as well as anything else that suits your fancy. I find that 3 to 5 sets works well, and lift between 8-12 reps. Pick a rep and ideally you want to barely be able to physically lift the last one. Lift heavy drink plenty of water, eat plenty of protein, and get plenty of rest. I suggest looking online for a compound superset 3 day split. This will give you three days of lifting, and you can fit cardio into the other days if it tickles your pickle.
-As far as how long it will take to lose 10%. Everyone is differently, and a lot of this depends on how you do things moving forward. As long as you stay at a healthy caloric deficit, and workout effectively, you'll lose weight at a healthy rate. Technically, within what most could consider "healthy paramaters", you could lose between 15-30ish lbs in 3 months.
Just my 2 cents0 -
Lifting weights, and doing toning type workouts, build your lean body which is currently covered by a layer of fat.
Yes, the workouts will burn calories, and muscle will burn more calories per lb than the same amount of body fat will, so they will get you to your goal faster.
You do all the building and toning so when the fat is gone there is something under there to be proud of, and not just loose flabby arms, legs, butt and tummy.0 -

I'm aware that weight loss will resolve that but I've been weight training and I don't see a difference.0
