Losing weight but not feeling it...

So I started at 260 and after 3 months am at 226 and counting. My goal weight is 160. Everyone says I'm looking better and such but I don't FEEL better or smaller. I don't expect to lose all the weight over night but id like to feel it. Any ideas so suggestions? Thanks!

Depending on how long you have been overweight, it will take a while for your mental image of yourself to catch up with the actual image. I still have days where I feel "fat" and have to convince myself that I'm not anymore. Our brains are mysterious organs, I tell ya!

your brain hasn't caught up to your weight loss :), I still feel this greatly and I have lost a good amount of weight. I am still 283lbs, but I feel like I am still in the 300 most days!! When I measure myself tho, it surly shows!!

So maybe measure yourself ( if you haven't) and like Rayzerwolf said go buy some new clothes maybe!!

I agree it was the day I bought new clothes that actually fit. I still wear the same workout pants but I notice that they are bigger in the legs and that makes me feel better OR when I was able to get back into the scrubs I wore before I got pregnant with my youngest. Unfortunately it takes time and trust me I am a very impatient person BUT I have had to learn that others will see a difference before I do. Just keep with it and you'll eventually notice. I think we are always harder on ourselves and we don't see what others see! Good luck!

This. New clothes made a huge difference for me. Dropped from 56 to 40 '' waists, but could barely tell in my old clothes.

Do you have any pictures of yourself at your highest weight? If not, don't worry, but start taking progress pictures now. Sometimes looking at yourself not in the mirror, but through the camera lens - and compared to other points in time - can help!

my sister lost over 100 lbs and still does not see herself as the slimmer, sexier version that the rest of us see.

Speaking of clothes, do any of you still pick out clothes that are too big for you at times? I know I had a hard time not trying on clothes that I thought would fit (let's say a 36" waist jean) when I KNEW a 32" fit me now. I still do that from time to time. I border on a 30"-32" waist now (was at a 42" waist when I started), and still will pick out 34" waists for some reason. Then I try them on and have to get the 32" anyway, possibly 30".

Great suggestion. That is one of the only times I really see myself as a lot smaller.

Thank you guys for the suggestions. I think I have a few more lbs to go before I go shopping but that is def something to look forward too!! :) my hubby also doing mfp has lost 50lb so far and has been doing the 'pic diary' so that can see his changes over time. Idk if that would work for me personally. I would tend to focus what what I still needed to do and not what's been done. Glass is half empty kind of girl. But great suggestions!

yes, sometimes I go for the size I am vs what I used to be in. Like you, I still pick out the larger size because my real size "looks too small" to be true. Bad habits are hard to break.

I too suggest maybe trying on new clothes as seeing that visual might help. Keep it up!
