Should I go low-carb or stay low-fat?

I am doing low-fat right now but I have to say that low-carb seemed to be easier for me to follow, however, I don't really know how I can follow a low-carb with a mostly vegan diet (I slip up occasionally). I used to eat meat, eggs, butter, etc so is it even possible for me to do low-carb at this point?

Eat what is sustainable for you. I suspect that low carb is not going to work, and low fat has been a fail for most people as well....

Neither.. go moderate carb, moderate fat and high protein. Fat is very healthy for you and improves skin, nails, hair and cognitive abilities. Carbs are for energy and protein will help with muscle retention. I found macro's around 40% carbs, 30% protein and 30% fats will help achieve 1g of protein and .35g of fat per lb of lean body mass which is ideal. If anything, monitor protein and do weight training. The more muscle you preserve, the faster you will reach your goal, the stronger you will be and happier you will be. It's about fat loss, not weight loss that makes you fit.

Like I always say, "weight loss makes you look good in clothes but fat loss makes you look good naked"
