DVT - Exercise and Success

Greetings!
I have been on myfitnesspal for quite a while and I love it! After being pregnant and having a beautiful, healthy baby girl I am ready to finally reach my weight and fitness goals.
Besides the usual struggles that come with trying to lose weight I have recently (4 weeks ago) been diagnosed with a DVT in my right leg. After seeing the ultrasound my doctor was a little excited because she thought the clot and damage would be a lot worse. She has given me the ok to resume my normal workouts that -pre-pregnancy- would consist of at least an hour fast paced walk each day. She said to hold off on running for now. I have never been a "true" runner, but I did quite well on the couch to 5k program.
I would love to hear from anyone who has had experience dealing with recovering from a DVT. For me so far it has been more mentally challenging that physical. I just don't want to do anything that would set me back as it relates to my recovery. Working out has become a part of who I am but while I am so anxious to get started again I can't help but be a little nervous.
Thanks! : )
