I'm sure most people have the same issue but I retain soooo much water weight when my sodium is high. I try to keep it under 2000 but often fail because I like cheese to much. Do any of you keep up with your sodium?? if so where do you try to keep it at?/ TY

Mine usually runs between 1500 - 2000 mg per day. I do not have any issues with blood pressure so I don't worry too much about it. If I do eat something high in sodium, I just make sure to drink lots of water after and usually the next day. Water weight doesn't worry me because it's temporary.

You must track sodium accurately if you want to record weight loss. It is the second most important measure after calories.

Salt is a major part of reconstituted food, and even if you keep your calories down, eating ready meals will put your weight up.

I am on meds for HBP, so my limit is 1500-1700 daily. At this level and the amounts of water I take in, I do very well. Very seldom, do l go over... pizza or Chinese take-out, my favorites!

Really :frown: I never really thought on it before. I don't worry about it (until now maybe). I rarely add salt when cooking and don't log when i do. Would you be willing to elaborate as to why please?
