Just wondering if anyone else goes by the "calories Burned" on the elliptical machines?
At the gym I always enter my weight to get an accurate calorie burn/
Today after 35 mins on the Elliptical (10 mins level 1 at about 6-6.6mph) 10mins on level 15 (53.5mph) and 10 mins level 8 doing intervals of 6mph 9.5 mph>
It said my total burn was 410 calories.
Does that sound accurate?
Also, I have started running and go 6.2km's in anywhere between 47-53 mins ( depending on wind and coldness).
My NIKE Run on the Ipod says I burn 770 calories doing that.
I weigh 232lbs right now (scale is moving so darn slow).
Just wondering if anyone had this issue before on whether the calories burned was accurate
thanks

I'm not sure about the gym machines but I run a little over 3 miles in 35 minutes and my HRM tells me I burn anywhere from 560-580 calories. I'm at 194 # now (hopefully not much longer) Keep up the great work!0

this does a good job with running
elliptical machine readout can NOT be trusted0 -
Just a heads up, I found the Nike Run was always waaayyyy off for me with calories, distance & pace. I used it when I first started running but stopped once I realized how wrong it was.
Definitely try that Runner's World calories burned calculator, it's a good one.
edited to add: Congrats on your loss! Keep it up0
