(Women) On a 1800 or higher calorie-a-day diet?

Hey,
So about three years ago when I started doing MFP I went on a 1200 calorie diet, for about 1-2 years. I went from 178 lbs to 140 lbs, which was great! But then I gained it all back. I couldn't keep up with such a low calorie intake (which I now realize very few can).
Currently I am 5'4 and 168 lbs. My ultimate goal weight is around 130-140 lbs.
But now I've started a diet of 1800-2000 calories a day, and I'm wondering if any others have had success with a higher calorie goal like this. I'm eating healthy, I've started exercising regularly. Any tips or feedback would be so appreciated.

I shoot for 1810 net right now, but I am also breast feeding. My goal weight and current weight are pretty close to yours as well. 35 lbs down to get to this point, I would say it is working for me.0

I had success, but I was also working out nearly every day, lifting weights and playing sports 2-3 days a week. It depends on your stats & activity level. You can be successful if your TDEE is higher than 1800 a day, but expect a slower weight loss. (which, in my opinion, is a good thing because you have a better chance at retaining some LBM) Also, with a smaller deficit be careful not to under estimate your intake/over estimate your calorie burns.0

Currently my calorie intake would not exceed 1800 but not under 1500 for sure, that would be net. There would be days I will be weighing 118lbs but I'd like to register my weight a 120lbs. Would like to soon increase my intake to 2000 cal! Working on strength training to gain muscles.0 -
I'm similar to you. But I am 5'8. I am 180 and got to 140 years ago but gained it back. I got there on 1200 cals a day. Now I try to average 1500 a day. I've never been able to lose if I eat more than 1500. I also do lots of cardio. I'm 41 so its sloooow. My gut tells me 1800 is too high for u unless you're burning tons of cals each day. Try 1500.... Like I said, I average this. Two days a week I eat about 2200 and the other 5 days I average 1300 or so.0
