I have finally managed to clear up my acne and now I really want to even the time and reduce the dark spots on my face. I would also like to reduce the oily spot and dark circles under my eyes. What do you use and what results did you get. How long did it take to see results? Thank you in advance.

  • I clean my face with sweet almond oil. There are a lot of articles about oil cleansing out there. I rub it into my skin, let it sit for a couple minutes, get a washcloth wet with very hot water, wring it out, then just place it over my face. I let it cool a little bit, then massage my face with the washcloth.

It's helped clear up my acne and give my skin a nicer texture. It's also cheap compared to a lot of other cleansers or systems on the market.

If I get a small breakout or single pimple I dab a little tea tree oil on it with a q-tip.

For lightening dark spots on skin a little bit, I like to make a paste with rice flour (available in a lot of Asian grocery stores and at places with bulk grains) and water, put that on as a mask, let it dry, then wash it off with warm water. If you do that a few times per week for a few weeks you start to see a difference.
  • My night regimen includes:

At least 2-3x/week I treat my face with Retin-A. It can make me peel, so I do it every other day or so.:

    1) Cetaphil face wash for oily skin
    2) Jan Marini Bioglycolic Cleanser
    3) Wait at least 30 minutes
    4) Mix a pea sized amount of prescription retina-A with a bit of Neutrogena Face lotion and put all over my face
    5) Wait another 30 minutes
    6) Apply Josie Maran Light Argan Oil all over face

    Other days of the week:

    1) Cetaphil face wash for oily skin
    2) FAB-First Aid Beauty "Facial Radiance Pads" (I get them at Sephora)
    3) Apply Cerave moisturizing lotion
    4) Apply Proactive Dark Spot Corrector or prescription Hydroquinone cream to any dark spots
    5) Right before bed I apply Josie Maran Light Argan Oil all over face

I also take Bactrim & Spironolactone for a couple of weeks out of the month-- you know, hormone time.

Since being on this regimen, I have seen a drastic improvement in my skin tone. If you do start using dark spot correctors be sure to wear sunscreen... or you risk getting more dark spots.
